Passionate nerd about infrastructure of all things. Want to hear all about trains? Roads? Bridges? Our crumbling sewer system won't someone think of the children for god's sake? Coda will happily go on about it. At length. He goes to city hall meetings as a concerned citizen. It's a whole deal.

John is a curmudgeon. Coda often got on his nerves. John went on vacation almost immediately after declaring that Coda was a Chela now. Call him only if the world was ending, that sort of thing.

Coda himself had a stellar reputation for being a high integrity fellow until Rune. He chased the (Nephandus? Maurader? Rumors aren't clear) Morrigan all the way to New York. Morrigan died in the confrontation. As Morrigan and Rune had shared a twisted mentor, Coda brought Rune in.

Coda did not approve of Rune's sentencing. He fought against it. He said Rune was innocent. He visited Rune regularly. He may have used up some political capital to make the sentence lighter than it was.

Coda's reputation is now okay-to-neutral-to-not-great. He's been living with Rune for five years, for his own reasons, working closely with him. Those who are inclined to judge Rune harshly are inclined to paint him with the same brush. On the other hand he's still known for high integrity, and he is known for being a pretty damned good investigator and person to have on your side when you've got a problem. YMMV, Your Opinion May Vary.

Big math nerd. A lot of his magickal practice is rooted in mathematics, sacred shapes, sacred numbers, equations, probability, statistics. This includes things people don't normally think of as math, like music.

Specific Roleplay Hooks

Unlikely Investigator - Day trading pays the bills. What he's really passionate about is helping people who need it. Finding lost items. Finding lost people. Sometimes trying to solve the murders of people nobody else cares about. If you've got a problem and no one else can help, and so on. He does, in fact, have an active State of California Private Investigator's license, though you won't find him actively advertising his services as such anywhere. He uses it for things that capture his own interest, or, at times, receives a referral from a friend of a friend.

Infrastructure Nerd - Do you also have a passion for infrastructure issues? Are you involved in local politics? Coda's a concerned citizen and a dedicated nerd for all things civic infrastructure. He's very involved in local politics as a result.

Are You a Haighter? - Coda lives somewhere in Haight-Ashbury and is often seen in shops and businesses around the neighborhood. Maybe we've run into each other?
