The Triumphant vampire has publicly defeated an impressive enemy without aid, risked their life to provide a critical service, or otherwise demonstrated their enormous brass sex organs. While the rest of the Sect must follow sect etiquette, you're often an exception (below). You can spend Triumphant to ignore the censure of any negative status possessed by yourself or another character for one scene. After all, you've done something incredibly impressive for your sect that was no small task and by God, you deserve one god damn night where you can just have a nice evening. You gain this benefit even if you have negative status that would otherwise prevent you from using status traits.

  • Insults, Threats, and Attacks: The Triumphant will not incur the Warned status if they make a public insult, threat, or attack on Elders, the Sheriff, and/or Favored members of the Court.
  • Calling Out Liars: The Triumphant can call out the Elders and/or the Sheriff in public for lying.

Be advised, just because you won't incur the Warned status doesn't mean that those who you antagonize aren't allowed to find another way to retaliate. Further, nobody is an exception to Elysium, not even the Triumphant vampire, and so the ability to insult, threaten, or attack someone does not apply in Elysium.

How Do I Get It?

Triumphant is awarded by the Prince or, in her absence, the Seneschal.

If you defeat an impressive enemy without aid or otherwise risk your Unlife for your sect, you will receive Triumphant. It doesn't have to be in combat, either: any situation in which the stakes are dire for the sect and the risks are high is potential grounds for Triumphant.

If another sect member kills a vampire who possesses the status trait Forsaken, that individual gains the status trait Triumphant.
