Prince

The Prince has the freedom to do as she wishes within her domain (at least in theory). A Prince's authority includes:

  • Interpreting and enforcing the Traditions within the domain
  • Acknowledging all Kindred arriving in the domain
  • Exiling the undesirable
  • Allotting feeding territory to the clans of the domain
  • Declaring or revoking Elysium
  • Issuing blood hunts on criminals and enemies of the sect
  • Holding Right of Destruction in accordance with the Sixth Tradition
  • Sanctioning breaches of the Traditions (granting the right to Embrace, and so forth)
  • Punishing miscreants for violating Traditions, especially the Masquerade
  • Holding status jurisdiction over her domain

The Prince is an NPC only position.

Status Breakdown

A Prince is granted the Abiding Status titles of Authority, Commander, and Sovereign.

A Vampire with Authority controls their sect within a particular jurisdiction and, as such, can award characters with Courageous, Defender, Honorable, or Faithful at will. Once a month, a vampire with Authority can also give or remove Warned or Forsaken. Princes, Archbishops, and Barons are 'Authority' characters.

At will, character with Authority can...

  • Publicly insult Established and Favored characters without legal reprisal.
  • Publicly accuse Privileged characters of lying without legal reprisal.
  • Reject or ignore orders given by Glorious or Commander characters.
  • Allow a Forsaken character to visit or reside in their domain.

A Commander is empowered by higher leadership to enforce the sect's laws. A Commander character may issue orders to any member of their sect who does not possess the status Authority and may strip another character of all of their fleeting status if they disobey a direct order. A Commander may appoint someone else as an Enforcer for a single night at will. Once a month, a Commander can award Courageous and Faithful.

A Commander is immune to the legal reprisal of leveling a public insult, threaten, or attack on Established and Privileged characters. They also may freely accuse a Privileged character of lying without being found in violation of sect law.

The Prince is considered a Commander, as well as those who outrank her (Archon, Alastor, Imperator).

A Sovereign vampire holds praxis over one of the domains of the Camarilla and, in control of that domain, may reward any individuals with Courteous, Enforcer or Faithful at will. Further, the Sovereign cannot be openly contradicted within the domain where she holds praxis, unless the individual possesses either the status trait Privileged (Elders and the Sheriff have this) or the status trait Authority (those who outrank the Prince have this). Sovereign can be used once a month to sanction one individual vampire to be a one-time exception to the laws of the sect. This responsibility is not conferred lightly. Sovereign can also be used once a month to initiate a Blood Hunt (which administers Forsaken to the Blood Hunted). The Prince is the only sect office considered 'Sovereign'.
