A Defender is authorized to use force and disciplines, if necessary, to protect sect members and enforce sect law. This doesn't mean they can bring weapons into Elysium or use Disciplines there. It just means that they are sanctioned to enforce the law, and sometimes that means getting froggy. Regular sect members who attack another sect member, by contrast, are subject to being Warned (and Disgraced if they do it in Elysium).

How Do I Get It?

A character with Authority (e.g. The Prince) can appoint a Defender.

The Sheriff can appoint Deputies, which gives them Defender for one night.
