Police Influence

Police Influence is split into the below Specialties. When taking points of any given Specialty, please specify which municipality you are taking it in (such as San Francisco or Oakland).

All federal-level departments that work closely with police (such as the FBI, the DEA, ICE and the ATF) can be called onto an influence action with any type of Police Influence but they will not involve themselves if there is no reasonable cause for them to do so. If you are investigating a crime that crosses state lines or otherwise chalks up a good basis for getting the Feds involved, go for it! But they're not going to answer just because you call.

General Crimes

General Crimes describes teams of investigators that work with a given city's various district stations. General Crimes influence will lower the difficulty of any Influence action pertaining to the investigation of auto burglary, narcotics, and traffic collision investigations.

Special Victims Unit

Special Victims Unit describes teams of investigators that work with a given city's various district stations. SVU influence will lower the difficulty of any Influence action pertaining to the investigation of fraud, elder abuse and hate crimes, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Major Crimes

Major Crimes describes teams of investigators that work with a given city's various district stations. Major Crimes influence will lower the difficulty of any Influence action pertaining to the investigation of gang activity, homicide, and robbery.

Police Administration

Police Administration describes offices within a particular city's police jurisdiction that is responsible for internal accountability, self-analysis and PR. Police Administration influence will lower the difficulty of any Influence action pertaining to holding police accountable, changing police policy, and budgeting or distributing equipment/resources.
