SAN FRANCISCO -- Three men were found dead early Friday morning in what looks to be a brutal cartel-style execution at a Mission area home, police said.

Officers found the bodies after a series of 911 calls reporting gunfire summoned officers to a home on the 1300 block of San Bruno Avenue on Friday at 2:12 a.m., said San Francisco police Cpl. Nathan David in a news release.

Police suspect that this was gang related. The scope of violence suggests a group of assailants, and they appear to have been allowed into the home, which was selectively robbed. One of the murder victims had a hand cut off post-death, leading police to suspect a sick trophy.

The investigation is continuing, and detectives were still at the scene as of Saturday evening. The identities of the people found were not released publicly Saturday afternoon.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact detectives at 415 575 4444.
