Collaborative Social Environment

We are a game for people who want to collaboratively write stories. We want conflict, risk, and even death to be all on the table. We want you to feel a sense of risk and reward. To achieve that environment, we encourage you, as a player, to get to know one another OOCly and to be up front with one another from the beginning if there is a misunderstanding or an issue.

Staff integrity and transparency

For players to feel like they can take IC risks they need to feel like they can trust the staff that helps move the story world forward. Our staff training files and policies are available to the playerbase and our +jobs system discloses to the player what staffer(s) have read their +job(s). If somebody does not follow a staff policy you have read, then point it out! If you want to know why X has read your job, ask! And if a staffer does not respond well to feedback, talk to Batty so he can hold them accountable

We use auto-Logging

As with many other games, Modern Nights logs all in-character poses. We do this for multiple reasons, from providing IC security footage to accountability purposes. Content in the OOC lobby is not logged. OOC conversation is not logged unless you are in the presence of staff, whose OOC conversations are logged for staff accountability. Pages are never logged. You can read more in detail in our pose logging policy.

Alts and Registration

To create a character on Modern Nights you have to register that character, either under a screen name or an email address. Providing your email address is also providing consent for us to email you about the game (such as for issuing server downtime/restoration notifications). Providing a screen name instead is also acceptable, so long as whatever you use to register your characters is the same for each character.
