What We Are Looking For

Hobby.jpg

Role playing MUSHes will span the gamut between video-gamey hack-n-slashes to an immersive, collaborative storytelling experience. We are looking to create a social community that leans towards the latter, and we seek out creative individuals who enjoy thinking about character motivation and immersing their imagination into a story they are a part of creating.

Role play can be a very time-intensive hobby, but we hope to make this game accessible to players regardless of how much spare time they do or do not have. We do not care about your time commitment, so long as you are able to give people a heads up if you signed up to be somewhere at a certain time/date and cannot attend.

Role play can also result in investing quite a lot of effort, regardless of how much time gets paired with it, like when players orchestrate a carefully crafted plan involving multiple people. We seek out RPers who appreciate the investment of other players in story and character development. We seek out players who are willing to consider how their actions effect others (or are willing to reach out to ask if they find that difficult) on an OOC level.

If that sounds good to you, we hope to have you!

Complaints And Expectations

To issue a complaint, send in a +request. Describe the situation and include logs. You may issue a complaint on anybody's behalf, but we must know who the aggrieved person is and we must have proof of what happened in order to act. Be mindful of the following:

  • Users that promote hostility based on identity or vulnerability should be reported. Comments, requests, and jokes become harassment the moment they are described as unwelcome and yet persist.
  • Users who are asked to stop communicating with another user OOCly, or are asked to stop a specific type of action, must do so. If they refuse or fail to do so, they should be reported.
  • All users must respect any and all requests to FTB/FF (Fade To Black/Fast Forward) immediately and without question. Failure to respect a FTB/FF request should be reported.
  • The other person being a dickbag is not a valid reason to sink to their level. This goes for staff and players ailke. When you put your foot down with another person, do so with either respect, courtesy or neutrality.
  • All players and staff are responsible for keeping the drama purely IC. If you are antagonized ICly and find it upsetting, reach out to the players instead of letting it fester. If you are playing an antagonist, reach out to players after you kick their characters around to make sure there's no hard feelings.
  • Generally speaking we do operate by "ICA = ICC", but that principle doesn't come at the expense of your comfort or consent. If you're not comfortable with a scene, or how it is being resolved, please reach out to staff.

When we receive a report, the response depends on the context and details. When a complaint proves valid, the reported player gets a strike. Every 3 strikes, they are dismissed from whatever context causes the problem: e.g. staffing, a chat channel, a character they play, our outright yeetification from the game. We will insta-yeet in extreme cases.
