The Man

• Day trader. Freelance.

• Passionate nerd about *infrastructure* of all things. Want to hear all about trains? Roads? Bridges? *Our crumbling sewer system won't someone think of the children for god's sake?* Coda will happily go on about it. At length. He goes to city hall meetings as a concerned citizen. It's a whole deal.

• Drives a Nissan Leaf. The perfect car for an environmentally conscious guy who can't afford a Tesla!

• Has been in San Francisco all his life.

The Mage

• Awakened 10 years ago.

• Apprenticeship for 5. His mentor's name is John Random.

• John is a curmudgeon. Coda copes by seeming to take very little very seriously. John went on vacation almost immediately after declaring that Coda was a Chela now. Call him only if the world was ending, that sort of thing.

• Coda himself had a stellar reputation for being a high integrity fellow until Rune. He chased the (Nephandus? Maurader? Rumors aren't clear) Morrigan all the way to New York. Morrigan died in the confrontation. Coda brought Rune in.

• Coda did not approve of Rune's sentencing. He fought against it. He said Rune was innocent. He visited Rune regularly. He may have used up some political capital to make the sentence lighter than it was.

• Coda's reputation is now okay-to-neutral-to-not-great. He's been living with Rune for five years, for his own reasons, working closely with him. Those who are inclined to judge Rune harshly are inclined to paint him with the same brush. On the other hand he's still known for high integrity, and he is known for being a pretty damned good investigator and person to have on your side when you've got a problem.
