Becomings
Becoming A Mage
If you are playing a Mortal and wish to convert them to a Mage, then an Awakening can be arranged for you. To arrange an Awakening, place a +request to staff. You will need to have played the character for 2 months first, but there are no other requirements. You will get 1 dot of Avatar and 1 dot of a specific sphere. The Storyteller will run at least one scene related to your Awakening, during which time your character may manifest abilities — temporarily — beyond the capacity of their sheet at the time. This is entirely up to the storyteller. If you have a specific way that your Awakening should go in mind, then by all means make suggestions and ask, but it is ultimately up to the storyteller.
After that point, your character is an Arete 1 mage! You will be eligible to raise your Arete to 2 after 4 months have passed, in accordance with our policy on Seekings (Seekings are available to Mages after a number of months have passed equal to twice the pursued Arete level).
Becoming A Vampire
If a player character makes the conscious IC decision to embrace your character, then the embrace occurs! Your character will be subject to the laws of the sect to which they were embraced, however, so bear the potential consequences of such an event in mind! When you are ICly embraced, you do not get any stat boosts, but you do inherit Generation according to your Sire. You also may request up to two supernatural merits or flaws that are resonant with your character and the story behind the embrace.
NPCs will typically not embrace player characters. The exception to this is NPCs embracing their ghouls. You may attempt to have an NPC domitor embrace your character, but it will need to make some IC sense.
Becoming A Ghoul
If a player character makes the conscious IC decision to ghoul your mortal character, then your character becomes a ghoul. Your character will receive 1 dot of Potence on the first drink and their ability to develop further disciplines will be determined by the generation rating of their domitor.
