Herd works as described in the V20 core.
= In Character Generation Herd is a standard Background bought with Background dots, Freebies, and Starting XP.
Characters with a Herd rating need to set a note called "herd" on the character. In this note, please disclose what your herd is like, and on what basis you feed on your herd (they think you're kinky, there's some weird cult thing going on, et cetera).
After Character Generation
To raise Herd, send in a +request with the following information:
- Herd Concept: Who are you looking to drink down? Ravers? Hobos? Dedicated followers?
- IC Method: How is your character meeting and getting close enough with these people? Going to parties? Comically furious speed dating?
The ST will then have you roll some dice vs 6 (+/- appropriate modifiers) to represent the act of networking and meeting a pool of people within that particular social circle. Each roll costs 1 Downtime. You need [3 x herd rating] in successes.
Once you have acquired the required amount of successes, you will be able to purchase the next level of Herd. Since this is a Background, the cost is [3 x current Herd].
