After a high speed chase and exchange of gunfire that ended at a Sacramento Street parking structure last week , one Bay Area resident is dead, another in the hospital, and the final two in custody after a high-speed police chase.

Hector Parker, 35, Younes Madani, 25, and Isabella Jenna Lee, 27, are each facing several felony counts from the shocking and violent late-night incident.

Although the surviving suspects are expected to be arraigned Wednesday, one man's medical state may prevent the case from moving forward.

Parker was extensively injured in the police response after he opened fire with a shotgun on the officers. His defense attorneys have indicated that, due to his critical condition, he is currently unable to communicate, making it impossible to proceed with an arraignment where Parker would be informed of the charges he is facing and asked to enter a plea.

Defendants in San Francisco County can be arraigned remotely from a hospital room, but they must be awake, lucid and able to communicate with their attorneys in order for such a hearing to move forward.

According to law enforcement officials, Parker wielded a Mossberg 590 and was armed with machetes, a wooden stake, chains and bicycle locks intended for use as restraints. His companions were similarly armed.
