Midnight Massacre Leaves 3 Dead, Several Wounded
NORTH BEACH, SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. (AP) -- At the Platinum Club, business was bouncing as usual. That is, until individuals reputed to be affiliated with a local gang entered. At least six individuals with guns got past the security staff at the front and rear of the establishment. These individuals threatened the clubgoers. That's when something went terribly wrong.
Sharice Nichols, an employee of Platinum Club, described her experience.
"They came in and asked for everyone to give up [their] wallets."
"It was like someone cut out all the lights, and then all I could hear was yelling and I was just trying to get out. And I heard it, sounded like nothin' I ever heard before. There was blood everywhere, I could feel it hitting me."
Miraculously, only the would-be robbers were killed. Three of the suspects in the robbery lay dead on the floor, and although gunfire caused thousands of dollars of collateral damage, patrons and employees were only mildly injured.
"It's a Goddamn mystery," says Peter Kwell, one of the patrons who was there said to our reporters. "One minute there's these men walking in, saying they own the place or somethin'. And then the next, you got three of 'em dead on the floor. Someone was our guardian angel, but he sure as hell be biblical."
The men were killed in particularly brutal fashion. One man had his throat torn out. Another had both arms broken before his skull was smashed in with a blunt object.
Police are still interviewing witnesses, and refuse to comment on the ongoing investigation. However, one source claims that the security system inside the Club had been disabled prior to the event. Leaving us to wonder... what really happened on the inside of Platinum Club?
The Club remains closed at this time.
