The thematic struggles of humanity and existential crisis are only interesting when you're conscious in the first place. Torpor's great in a tabletop that can be fast-forwarded a few decades at the drop of a hat, but when it's a MUSH, torpor past humanity 5 or so might as well be final death.

Torpor lasts until you're fed enough blood to heal whatever sent you into torpor, regardless of time, however when you arise you will be considered to have 6 levels of aggravated damage and your willpower will be cut in half of whatever its current value is (to give you a challenge to heal from: torpor should still be scary and a pain, but if you somehow manage to avoid diablerie and final death despite how ludicrously vulnerable you are to both while in torpor, you shouldn't have to retire the character).
