Generation
The Vampire Background "Generation" (p 114, V20 Core) costs double.
That means when buying Generation with your 5 standard background dots, 2 dots would give you Generation 1 and 4 dots would give you generation 2.
Then when you move onto freebies, it costs 2 freebie dots per additional level.
Then when you move onto spending XP, it costs 6 dots x current level.
The XP progression would thus be as follows:
