That means when buying Generation with your 5 standard background dots, 2 dots would give you Generation 1 and 4 dots would give you generation 2.

Then when you move onto freebies, it costs 2 freebie dots per additional level.

Then when you move onto spending XP, it costs 6 dots x current level.
